Virtual Events & Remote Competition done with a Purpose

I received an email today and couldn’t help but love the final line in the note… “have a fun, fit day inspiring others!” That pretty much sums up what we are trying to do at Competition Dojo. We want to create events that can be enjoyed by the masses and help to get them off the couch and inspire them to be better versions of themselves. There is no attempt here to be a virtual crossfit offering or to promise our subscribers amazing weight loss and muscle toning. We are simply trying to provide a fun distraction that gets people moving and competing against each other. We believe if people put just a bit of effort into each month's events it will lead to a better level of fitness and a whole lot of fun.

The great part about the synergy between this email and Competition Dojo is the email is from an organization that is the genesis of a very exciting announcement. When we started putting together Competition Dojo’s online event and online fitness approach we knew we wanted to also try to give back. After quite a bit of investigation we circled in on the folks at Project Fit America.

Here is a quick synopsis of how they view themselves... “Project Fit America is a national non-profit organization that creates and donates exemplary fitness in education programming to elementary and middle schools. Under this umbrella we address self-esteem, fitness and exercise as fun, understanding the body, as well as, leadership, sportsmanship and character development. The program goal is to reverse the lack of fitness in youth to give teachers the tools they need to help teach children to take responsibility for their health and embrace healthy lifestyle choices with enthusiasm! Our mission is to get kids fit and to create programs that assure every child will find something at which they are very good at and inspire them to participate in more fitness activities. We create the opportunity for all kids, not just the already gifted athletes, to discover, explore, improve and be recognized for their physical, mental and fitness efforts and performance. As of 2020 PFA celebrates our 30th year of working with communities nationwide serving over 500,000 children in 300 cities in 46 states.”

The more we have learned about the group, the tighter we have found the connections with what they are trying to do at the youth level and what we feel is so needed with many adults. The simple idea that being active and participating in sports and competitions can and should be fun!

Competition doesn’t have to be at some super caliber level to be fun. There are plenty of folks that love to compete that may never make it to the local cross fit games, but with the right events and the right connections we can inspire folks to get out and just enjoy the opportunity.

We are very excited to announce that going forward we will be providing a percentage of our revenue to this outstanding organization. For each subscription, we are donating 5% of the revenue to Project Fit America. In addition we will be making it possible for our subscribers to easily make a matching contribution or to make their own one time commitments.

Competition, fitness, and fun… In a year that has been, shall we say.... Interesting. I can’t hope to express how excited we are to work with the great team at Project Fit America to simply have a huge number of fun, fit days inspiring others!
